Melanie Vance, MS, LPC-MHSP, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi there! My name is Melanie Vance and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC-MHSP) and nationally certified counselor (NCC). I support clients ages 10 and older as they face the varied challenges of life, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, and significant life changes. My background also includes work in an intensive substance-use recovery program for adult offenders, which strengthened my appreciation for resilience and the many paths people take toward change.

I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, flexible, and built on understanding your inner world with compassion and curiosity. My approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while integrating a variety of other skills and perspectives as needed. I also draw from Trauma-Focused CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy when helpful. I work collaboratively to find what resonates with you, whether that’s building concrete coping skills, exploring deeper emotional patterns, or developing new ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world around you. Therapy should meet you where you are, and adaptability is central to how I practice.

Being human means experiencing a wide range of thoughts, emotions, and internal struggles, and these experiences don’t have to define or limit you. In our work together, we focus on making room for the difficult parts of life rather than fighting them, and on learning to step back from unhelpful thoughts so they have less control over your choices. This creates space to reconnect with what matters most to you and to move toward the life you want with intention.

I hope for the opportunity to work alongside you!
